Wine Of The Week - 2018 Nebbiolo

Nebbiolo: the name sounds mysterious, intriguing, enticing. Something that is somehow unknowable, indefinable, and—dare we say, nebulous?—waiting for an adventurous soul to take the first step to discover what treasures and mysteries it holds.

Nebbiolo is a red wine grape that originated in the Piedmont region of Italy… much like Noisy Water’s winemaker did, by way of his mother. Depending on who you ask, the grape either derived its name from the fog (nebbia or nebia) that takes place during the harvest season in the region where many Nebbiolo vineyards exist, or it comes from the fog-like “veil” that forms over the grapes as they ripen.

2018 Nebbiolo

A harmonious dance between rich, ripe fruit and smooth vanilla flavors.

$33.00

Noisy Water’s Nebbiolo is a full-bodied dry red wine, aged ten months in neutral, French, and American oak. The aroma of rich berries and vanilla roll in on the nose, with soft fruit and strong tannins on a cranberry finish. Dry and yet still easy to drink, its dark, rich color hints at the flavors to be found in the depths of your glass.

Perfectly at home in front of a roaring fire on a cold night, it’s ready to warm you up and complement a plate of cheese and fruit for one or for a crowd. Pair it with good friends and holiday cheer!

“…Every man has to find his own way…And I have faith in you. But your fly is open.”
— Don Pedro Aragon (Anthony Quinn) to Paul Sutton (Keanu Reeves) in “A Walk in the Clouds”

Beaujolias

N U E V O  N O U V E A U

30 million bottles of wine are shipped out around the world within 60 days of grape harvest from eastern France’s Beaujolais region.

Released on the third Thursday of November at 12:01 a.m. every year since 1951

Sound impossible? Hardly. We have a bottle just for you.

New Beginnings

As the name implies, Nuevo (Beaujolais) Nouveau, is "new" - young, that is - and is bottled less than two months after crushing the grapes.

In the 1950s, winemakers began competing each year in a race to deliver the first bottles to Paris, and before we knew it the competition had been pushed and publicized enough that the harvest and distribution of this wine is now celebrated all over the world at exactly midnight on the third Thursday of November, when it is legal to pop a bottle open.

Taste

Fresh, youthful and vibrant with lush, juicy aromas of grape, raspberry, fig, banana, and cranberries. This is as close as you can get to drinking wine straight from the vine.

Pairing

A superb match for turkey, right in time for Thanksgiving.

$29.00

Noisy November

November in the wine industry marks the conclusion of harvest and the beginning of wine making. We are making room in the production facility and putting new vintages in the bottle! Here is what November will look like at Noisy Water Winery!

 ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

 November is here!

November in the wine industry marks the conclusion of harvest and the beginning of wine making.  We are now transferring 2018 and 2019 red wines from barrel to bottle, and 2020 white wines from tank to bottle.  Keep your eyes open for new vintages - many will be coming out in the next few months as we make room in the winery for new wine!

It is likely that 2017 and 2018 vintages will be transferred to the library soon - don't forget to stock up on your favorites before they go on reserve!

Attn: this vintage of Pinot Noir is now in low supply...

2017 Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with something smokey!

Try it with Smoked Gouda...

Smoked Gouda

  $10.00

Guess what... We are officially out of 2018 Dolcetto!

2018 Dolcetto

Dolcetto translates to "little sweet one" - though this wine is not sweet, it is delicate and bright and certainly makes us feel sweeter!

  $35.00

It is gone for now, but not for long.

We'll be bottling the latest vintage of Dolcetto soon - stay tuned friends!

November also marks the beginning of truffle hunting season!

We honor this magical time of year by indulging in decadent truffle oil! Have you tried it?

It is amazing (obviously) on Italian dishes like risotto and pasta carbonara, but it is also wonderful for marinating meats, enhancing egg scrambles and hashes, and drizzling on popcorn with sea salt.

Check it out...

Black Truffle Oil

Cold pressed oil infused with black truffles.

The intense heat of summer brought harvest early this year. We spent much of the fall season drinking Uncle Dick's Hard Cider and playing frisbee golf after work at Enchanted Vine - the weather felt almost too nice late into October.  Then, out of no where, we had our first snow day of year! We spent the day snuggled up at home, pretending we couldn't possibly work, playing cards, and drinking our favorite snowy day wines!

This little taste of winter got us pretty excited for the holiday season. We can't wait for all the food, wine, and family time!

Don't forget to come see us at our wine production facility every Sunday for our weekly market!

You might have missed out on the November shipment...

But you can still sign up to receive the next Wine Club shipment!

Wine Club Perks

Wine club members get:

  •  Complimentary tastings daily
  • Exclusive event invitations to Noisy Water events

We hope this November brings you plenty of opportunities to make memories with your loved ones and that the holiday food and wine leave your belly and heart feeling full!

Happy November friends!

Cheers!
