Wine Of The Week - Amor En Fuego

Only in New Mexico does pairing red chile and chocolate make as much sense as pairing peanut butter and jelly or rum and coke. While some people raise an eyebrow at the idea, they think this is something that is better suited to the making of candy, or hot chocolate, or maybe even a sauce for chicken.

Then along comes Noisy Water Winery and says, “Hey! How about making red chile and chocolate WINE???”

Amor En Fuego is literally translated as “love on fire”. And if you love red chile, chocolate, and wine, you’ll understand how this wine got its name. With hints of berries and toasted marshmallow on the nose, and a rich velvety middle of milk chocolate, cinnamon, and vanilla, finishing with a spicy red chile kick (but not too spicy!), this wine is a perfect complement to an appetizer course loaded with fruits and cheeses or as a dessert with a rich cheesecake or anything sweet and creamy like tres leches cake. Or pair it with something dark and chocolatey, like brownies.

This New Mexico red chile and chocolate infused wine, will have you reminiscing on times spent in grandma’s kitchen!!

While it makes a delicious and intriguing dessert wine on its own, it can also be used to liven up hot chocolate or coffee. Or, freeze Amor En Fuego into cubes and use it to make a deliciously boozy iced coffee! Dress it up with a dash of cinnamon or red chile powder! You can also substitute it for any liquid in brownie or cake recipes to add a subtle, extra flavor dimension.

Whether served by itself or used to enhance a favorite stand-by recipe, you’ll be sure to add a little New Mexico flavor and mystique to your glass and table by including Noisy Water’s Amor En Fuego to your selection of great wines from the Land of Enchantment!

Virtual Connecting - Our New Social Hour

Remember the good ole days when we used to meet our friends & families at bars or restaurants to catch up and unwind?  With no family gatherings, social settings or lunch dates, we all have to entertain ourselves somehow during these trying times & get our much need social interactions virtually! In my household we have been using this down time to enjoy connecting with family and friends for virtual happy hours with apps like FaceTime and Zoom!

FAMILY CHATS

It has been so much fun to get my entire family on face-time and have happy hour with them. At least once a week our family has been connecting around the 5'o clock hour, and it usually makes for a great break from reality! I highly suggest setting up a weekly happy hour!
HERE ARE SOME FUN IDEAS:
  • Call your Grandparents
  • Call your Parents / Siblings
  • Let your little one's call their cousins and converse with them
  • Breakfast date with Mom or Dad - Share a cup of coffee with them (yes we know it may have booze in it, and that is okay too)

COCKTAIL KINGS & QUEENS
My friends and I have also had a great time connecting from different parts of the country via FaceTime and Zoom and having our own happy hours. Some of us are hiding from kids in the other room, barbecuing outside with the boys, and some of us just looking to VENT to each other during this time of quarantine!

Its has been a great source of entertainment and stress relief (we typically have wine on hand, definitely recommended by all lol)!

Cheers! I wish you all happiness, health & great wine...and if your running low I know an amazing winery that can help with that πŸ‘‡πŸ˜‰

Gear Up For Game Day

When it comes to Super Bowl beverages, beer usually steals the show, but we think it's the perfect time to #getnoisy!

Pizza + Dolcetto

Berry notes in the middle followed by a smoky, smooth finish make this wine the perfect companion for pizza lovers.

Buffalo Wings + Jo Mama's Red
If you're munching on spicy buffalo wings, you'll need a sangria-style sweet red to cut the heat.

Deviled Eggs + Zia Chardonnay
Buttery and crisp citrus flavors mix well with the tangy, delicious flavors of this simple side dish.

Sliders + El Cabron Viejo
The slight black pepper finish of this dry red blend make it an excellent match for beef sliders.

Jalapeño Poppers + Riesling
This semi-sweet white with a smooth finish is the perfect compliment to this game day staple.

The Perfect Wine & Candy Pairings for a Happy HalloWINE!

Whether you’re a parent who sneaks their child’s Halloween candy or you’re simply waiting to stock up when candy is half off on November 1st, there’s no denying the glorious combination of some tasty treats and some delicious wine.

That’s why we put together the ultimate Halloween candy and wine pairing guide. Drink up witches!

1. Reese's Peanut Butter Cup & Black Cherry

Our port-style wines are sweet, decadent, and indulgent...just like the satisfying taste of a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup!

2. Milk Chocolate M&M's & Demigod

Demigod is a lighter-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon filled with dark fruit flavors, vanilla, and a silky finish that pairs perfectly with M&M’s that melt in your mouth.

3. Butterfinger & Zia Chardonnay

Our Chardonnays have a buttery texture that perfectly complements a crisp butterfinger.

4. Starburst & Sauvignon Blanc

Our Sauvignon Blanc is full of peach notes, crisp, clean fruit, and acidity. It only makes sense to pair this easy-to-drink dry white with sweet and juicy Starburst.

5. Hershey's Dark Chocolate & Dolcetto

Have some chocolate with a wine that has a soft toasted chocolate aroma! Berry notes and a smoky finish go great with smooth dark chocolate.

6. Sour Patch Kids & Riesling

The pineapple and pear notes of this semi-sweet white pair well with the sour and sweet nature of Sour Patch Kids! (Plus, you can color the bottle! What’s not to love?)

7. Gummy Bears & Moscato

Our Moscato is a playful and sweet tropical explosion. Combine that with the sweet and fruity taste of gummy bears!

8. Almond Joy & Malbec

The tannic finish of our chocolatey Malbec is the perfect mate for the chocolate and coconut flavors of an Almond Joy.
