Wine Of The Week - 2018 Nebbiolo

Nebbiolo: the name sounds mysterious, intriguing, enticing. Something that is somehow unknowable, indefinable, and—dare we say, nebulous?—waiting for an adventurous soul to take the first step to discover what treasures and mysteries it holds.

Nebbiolo is a red wine grape that originated in the Piedmont region of Italy… much like Noisy Water’s winemaker did, by way of his mother. Depending on who you ask, the grape either derived its name from the fog (nebbia or nebia) that takes place during the harvest season in the region where many Nebbiolo vineyards exist, or it comes from the fog-like “veil” that forms over the grapes as they ripen.

A harmonious dance between rich, ripe fruit and smooth vanilla flavors.

$33.00

Noisy Water’s Nebbiolo is a full-bodied dry red wine, aged ten months in neutral, French, and American oak. The aroma of rich berries and vanilla roll in on the nose, with soft fruit and strong tannins on a cranberry finish. Dry and yet still easy to drink, its dark, rich color hints at the flavors to be found in the depths of your glass.

Perfectly at home in front of a roaring fire on a cold night, it’s ready to warm you up and complement a plate of cheese and fruit for one or for a crowd. Pair it with good friends and holiday cheer!

“…Every man has to find his own way…And I have faith in you. But your fly is open.”
— Don Pedro Aragon (Anthony Quinn) to Paul Sutton (Keanu Reeves) in “A Walk in the Clouds”
